SPORT FOR THE
PUBLIC GOOD
NWANA is dedicated to the development of Nordic Walking as a national sport system that prioritizes public health, athlete safety, and community accessibility.
As a U.S. public charity, we build the institutional infrastructure — rules, certifications, and safety standards — that ensures Nordic Walking remains a safe, inclusive, and credible sport for all generations.
STRATEGIC IMPACT AREAS
How we utilize our nonprofit framework to serve the public interest.
Sport Integrity
We fund the development of SafeSport protocols, technical rulebooks, and anti-doping education to ensure a clean and protected environment for every participant.
Youth & Junior Growth
NWANA creates subsidized pathways for junior athletes, providing equipment access and specialized training to introduce the next generation to lifelong endurance sport.
Health & Research
We collaborate with medical and scientific institutions to validate Nordic Walking as a clinical movement tool for rehabilitation, longevity, and chronic disease prevention.
Community Access
By empowering Regional Operators and local clubs, we ensure that high-quality sport instruction is accessible in diverse communities across North America.
FINANCIAL LOGIC & STEWARDSHIP
Separating sport operations from charitable growth.
Program Service Revenue
Fees from athlete licensing, sanctioning, and professional certifications support the daily operations of the national sport system: the database, rankings, and technical oversight.
Charitable Donations
Donations and grants fund our social impact work: scholarship programs, youth equipment funds, SafeSport initiatives, and the development of the Athlete Delegation framework.
NATIONAL REPRESENTATION
Our nonprofit work extends to the Athlete Delegation Program. As a non-governmental entity, we bridge the gap for North American athletes, allowing them to compete internationally under a verified standards layer without the need for state-funded bureaucracy.
Build the Future
Your contributions directly impact the health, safety, and growth of the North American Nordic Walking community.
